Welcome to BSA Troop 338
West Lafayette, IN

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.

Camping

Troop 338 has campouts most months. Past campouts have focused on rock climbing and rappelling, caving, biking, hiking, and canoeing. We have regular events like a 'Shooting Sports Weekend', a mid-winter lock-in, and various other activities. Each summer we attend a week-long summer camp.

A Successful Troop

All successful troops have to "Deliver the Promise". This promise is to have trained quality leaders, a quality outdoor program, youth leadership, and follow-through on the "Adventure" that the Boy Scout Handbook outlines. We are proud to say that Troop 338 of West Lafayette, Indiana is "Delivering the Promise". With over 30 active families involved in our year round program we are continuing our over 50 year history as one of the areas largest and most active troops. If you would like to know more about the scouting program or how to sign your son up; feel free to contact us at any time using the Troop 338 Contact Form.
